• Pekiti Tirsia Kali World Federation Direction and Clarification

  •     I created the Pekiti-Tirsia Kali World Federation (PTKWF) to preserve the pure authentic cultural fighting art and conserve the system from its original roots so that it can be passed onto future generations unaltered and fully intact.

It is essential that the exact methodologies, principles, and philosophy must be followed completely. There is no shortcut to this path. I give the true practitioners clear direction by establishing an in-depth process of learning with reinforcing all of the platforms and weapon categories contained within the sub-systems.

I respect that many members already have an established martial art background. However, when training in Pekiti-Tirsia Kali, adding pieces of other martial arts to the training waters down the system and can cause confusion about what the art is.

What I look for in a student is dedication to the system, loyalty, persistence, and honorable character. I am not willing to waste my time anymore dealing with those who do not share my vision. This is my family legacy.

What I look for in an instructor is responsibility, leadership, ability to empower their students, proper teaching methods, organizational, and community building skills. I choose my instructors and leaders very carefully.

Members must follow the code of ethics of PTKWF. Competition amongst groups and organizations will not be tolerated. PTKWF communities should be supportive of each other, and work together where possible. Mutual respect amongst members is expected, and protocol must be followed according to the code of ethics.

I encourage our members to be humble and respectful of others. Professional courtesy between established groups and organizations ties us all together. All of the instructors and team leaders must coordinate with my established PTKWF regional managers in any PTK activities.

Riding and using the established networks of others will not be tolerated.

The pure Pekiti-Tirsia Kali system includes: double sword (double sticks, double knife), single sword (single stick, single knife, wasay, lugod) sword and dagger (espada y daga, sibat y daga, taming y daga) Malayo sibat, dumog-pangamut (dumpag, abecedario de mano, timbangan-pangamut, break-in/ break-out de mano, dakup y punyo de mano), sarong or malong Respect ~ Honor ~ Integrity de mano (flexible weapons), and modern weapons. Each weapon category is trained through progression of all of the sub-systems. This is the only path to mastery. Only then can a student truly understand and reach the depths of the art.

The striking methods of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali when it comes to pangamut/dumog involves hack, slap, finger jab, knee strike, sipa, sikad, biting, hammer strike, series of multiple elbows, trapping, breaking, and tendon + limb destruction. There is no punching to avoid potential damage to the finger joints and wrist that could prevent wielding a weapon in combat.

One of the main reasons that I established the PTKWF is to provide quality control of the highest standard amongst members. It is critical that the practitioners rank must align to their skill and progression through the system. Rank is only given when they are truly ready and meet the qualifications that I have set. My standards are for our community and future generations. I do not give rank for friendship, influence, money, attendance, or number of years in the system. They are ready when they are ready.

Hard work, dedication, self-discipline, and correct training methods will lead the student to master the art. This takes years and years of commitment.

I am very careful about promoting people. I would rather have members possessing high quality skills properly aligned with their rank than to give high rank to those with low quality or limited capability and understanding of the art.

These are groups and organizations that share my vision and follow my standards. Tactical Arts Academy, Nomad Kali & Combat Fitness, PTK New Jersey - Bakunawa, PTK Elite Family, PTK Makilas Family, PTK Daba-Daba, PTK Midwest USA, PTK Arizona, PTK Russia, PTK Baltic States, PTK Scotland, PTKWF Philippines, PTK Sundangan, PTKWF Southeast Asia/Oceania, PTKWF South Asia, and PTK China are all exemplars. This is by no means a complete list of those who share the vision and pathway of PTKWF.

I am so very grateful to have the support of those who strive to spread Pekiti-Tirsia Kali correctly so that this art prospers for many generations to come. Let us build the future of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali together. Without you, none of this is possible.

Thank you very much, and more power to you all ! "
